RAW Art Works

IGNITING ARTISTS (Summer 2012). Since 1988, Raw Art Works (RAW) has passionately pursued its mission to ignite the desire to create and the confidence to succeed, using the power of the arts to transform young lives, one artist at a time. RAW offers over 40 free arts programs that include a film school, visual and expressive arts groups, single gender groups, mentoring and leadership development programs, youth employment, and summer programs. According to a report submitted in the fall, RAW has accomplished the following:

*Served a total of 72 unduplicated youth through Project Launch and Talent and Purpose (TAP).

*Provided college access activities to 48 high school juniors and seniors.
Matched 24 seniors with mentors for one-on-one mentoring.

*Helped high school students access $750K in scholarships and financial aid awards.

*Employed 37 teens through the RAW Chiefs, Door 2 Door, Good 2 Go and Real to Reel programs.

Currently, RAW is working to serve even more unduplicated youth through Project TAP.
