STAFF BIOS

Megan B. Reilly, executive director

Megan Reilly came to The Clowes Fund in 2015 as an accomplished grantmaker with a deep appreciation for the nonprofit sector and for supporting effective leaders. She has worked with a number of family and community boards to achieve their philanthropic goals, and her experience spans the fields of immigrant services, workforce development and education. Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, Megan served as the Fund’s Program Director following five years as New England Program Officer.

Megan earned a Masters of Business Administration at Brandeis University, Heller School of Social Policy and Management after a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Boston University. She is a graduate of the LeadBoston leadership development program who honed her skills through 15 years of experience at The Boston Foundation and then at Hemenway & Barnes. After 22 years in philanthropy, Megan has a well-established network of mission-focused colleagues across New England and in Indianapolis.

Currently, Megan co-chairs the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance Workforce Development Collaborative and the Maine Immigrant and Refugee Funders Collaborative. She is also an active member of the New Hampshire Funders Forum and Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees. Megan has presented on topics such as “Demonstrating Cross-Sector Collaboration through the Lens of Workforce Development” at Indiana Philanthropy Alliance’s 2020 Philanthropy Leads conference and “Building an Immigrant & Refugee Funders Collaborative” at the Maine Philanthropy Center’s 2021 Philanthropy Partners Conference; and, she wrote a post titled Exceptional Times Call for Exceptional Responses for the National Center for Family Philanthropy’s Family Giving News blog.

When not visiting nonprofits or reviewing proposals, you might find Megan at a school play or soccer game, or exploring favorite New England sites and finding new favorites in Indiana.

Juan D. Galeano, Program Officer

Juan Galeano joined The Clowes Fund staff in July 2021 as Indianapolis-based Program Officer. He is responsible for the Fund’s Indianapolis immigrant services and workforce development grants and administers the Clowes Fund Matching Grant program. Juan also serves as a program officer for a select portfolio of New England grants.

Juan earned a Masters of Public Administration from the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Temple University. He has held various roles in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. Juan began his career as a faith-based organizer in Central Florida. He worked on issue campaigns to reduce the over arresting of children for minor offenses and to increase access to primary health care for the uninsured. In his previous role, Juan worked as a grantmaking consultant for The Cleveland Foundation leading their 2020 Census efforts, developing a Latine strategy, and coordinating their initial Coronavirus Vaccine Outreach efforts. He is an alumnus of the National Urban Fellows program, the Hispanics in Philanthropy Líderes Fellowship program, Rockwood Leadership Institute Equity in Philanthropy Fellowship, and the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute.

In his free time, Juan finds joy in connecting with nature, running, biking, visiting coffee shops, exploring local restaurants and spending time with loved ones.

ERIN TRISLER, OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Erin Trisler joined The Clowes Fund staff in September 2014 as Program Manager and has since earned a promotion to Operations Director. She oversees quality control, compliance, systems, office and financial management.

A life-long Hoosier and 1997 graduate of Indiana University (IU) School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Erin’s career flourished through 15 years of fundraising roles at the IU Foundation and the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site. Hundreds of grant submissions later (she lost count!), Erin embarked on a new chapter in grantmaking.

She currently serves on the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance Education Committee and engages with its Finance Peer Community. Beyond the workday, Erin finds joy in orchestrating family adventures, tending her green thumb, game nights and rooting for the Cream and Crimson (go IU!).


Caryn Conway, Program Assistant

Caryn Conway joined The Clowes Fund in August 2021 as Massachusetts-based Program Assistant. She earned a Masters of Science in Finance from Boston College, Carroll School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business/Management from Villanova University. Although her education and early career were in finance and investments, Caryn followed her heart into the nonprofit arena eight years ago, bridging corporate and local nonprofit organizations through volunteer experiences. Prior to joining The Clowes Fund, Caryn served as the Director of Partner Engagement and Operations at Building Impact. She also serves as an instructor at the Foundation for Metrowest, teaching Youth in Philanthropy, a high school youth leadership development course.

Outside of the office, Caryn serves on the Needham Education Fund Board and works passionately with Community Servings’ Pie In the Sky annual fundraiser. To relax and unwind, Caryn finds joy outdoors, skiing and spending time with her boys and puppy.
